Eugene Warmuth

June 5, 1925 — February 17, 2016

Eugene E. Warmuth, 90 of Waterloo, fell asleep in Jesus on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Highland House of Waterloo, surrounded by his loving family.

Eugene Edward Warmuth was born at home in Bristol, WI, on June 5, 1925, the son of Hattie Warmuth. He became the Lord's own child through the Sacrament of Baptism at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in East Bristol. He attended all eight grades at St. Joseph's Catholic School. He spent his youth on his grandparent's farm in Bristol. "Dick," as he was called most of his life, joined the United States Army in 1946. He spent a year as part of the U.S Occupational Army in Japan. He was honorably discharged in February 1948. Dick worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, proving himself to be a "jack of all trades." The two jobs he spent the most time at were 16 years in the Marshall Sausage Kitchen, Marshall, WI, and 13 years at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI.After a two year courtship he married Dolores Muriel Parpart on July 8, 1950 in Columbus, WI.
They were blessed with five children: the Reverend John (Karen) Warmuth of Neillsville, WI; Carol (Chip) Felland of Waunakee, WI; Joan (Dave) Umscheid of Hillsboro, OR; Gene Warmuth of Mt. Pleasant, WI; and Sandy (Tim) Grover of Waterloo, WI. They raised their family in many different houses over the years, primarily in the Madison and Marshall/Waterloo area, but they made each one a home where love was found by all.

Eugene is survived by: his wife Dolores; five children; 9 Grandchildren- David (Sara) Warmuth of Indianapolis, IN, Rebecca (the Rev. David) Juhl of Momence, IL, Sarah (Jack) Greil of Tomahawk, WI, Laura (Will) Schaefer of Lannon, WI, Benjamin (Erica) Warmuth of Silver Lake, WI, James Barr of Burien, WA, Meaghan (Keaton) Hemenway of Hillsboro, OR, Trevor Warmuth of Waterloo, WI, Cora Grover of Waterloo; 1 Step-Grandson Pat Grover of Sun Prairie, WI; Great-Grandchildren - Catherine, Matthew, Christopher and Timothy Juhl, Meghan and Amelia Warmuth, Ashton, Hayden and Dean Greil, Ella, Seth and Claire Schaefer, Noah, Levi and Robin Warmuth, and Kaleb Hemenway. He is further survived by his siblings Herb (Shirley) Benish of Sun Prairie, WI, Carol (Clay) Davis of Sun Prairie, WI, Arthur (Patty) Benisch of Windsor, WI, and Ruth (Gary) Gillett of Madison, WI. Dick is also survived by a number nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.

Eugene was preceded in death by: his mother, Hattie Breunig; a stillborn Grandson Eric Warmuth; and Step-Grandson Spencer Grover.

The family would like to thank the wonderful people at Rainbow Hospice for the care he received in the last week. And especially the wonderful staff at Highland House Assisted Living for the exceptional care of both their father and mother in the last year and a half.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral of Waterloo with Rev. Thomas Wilsmann presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
