Elsie J. Callison, 87 of Johnson Creek, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Sunset Ridge of Johnson Creek.
Elsie was born on January 3, 1938, in Bruce, WI, the daughter of Phillip and Emma (Dunahey) Adams. She was the youngest of 11 children and considered the ‘baby’ of the family. On June 6, 1959, Elsie was united in marriage with the love of her life Ronald Callison and the couple shared almost 66 years together. Elsie enjoyed attending bible studies and led her family to faith by her example. She also gardened. After Ron’s retirement, the couple traveled many places via RV including Canada, Mexico, Alaska, and other states. Elsie was his faithful navigator, using a map to get them safely to each new destination. She enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, and board games, and also liked to do puzzles. Elsie had a fantastic memory and was known as the family historian. She never missed sending a birthday card and always wrote her memories on the back of family photos so that they could be enjoyed by future generations. Elsie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all those she leaves behind.
Elsie is survived by: her husband Ron; children Sherie (Bill) Bennett, Barb (Jerry) Phipps and Mark Callison; grandchildren Hannah, Susannah, Rosannah, Josiah, Isaiah, Deannah, Zachariah, Leannah, Jeremiah, Joshua, Naomi, and Tyler; 6 great-grandchildren; and siblings Irene Taylor and Rachel Guernsey. Elsie is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank-you to the staff of Sunset Ridge and the staff of Rainbow Hospice for the loving care provided to Elsie.
