Eleanor Schmidt

Eleanor M. Schmidt, 104 of Sun Prairie (formally of Waterloo), died peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Prairie Gardens Assisted Living of Sun Prairie.
Eleanor was born on July 14, 1910 in Lemon, SD, the daughter of Roy and Edith (Amborn) Schuyler. The majority of her childhood was spent in Memphis, TN. She lived there until 1933 when the Schuyler family moved to Milwaukee. On June 12, 1937 she married Harvey E. Schmidt in Milwaukee and the couple moved to Waterloo in 1951. She worked as a secretary at RAJO Industries and also at the Waterloo Shoe Factory for many years. Eleanor was a long-time and active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo. She was a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Bethlehem Chapter #11. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
Eleanor is survived by: Daughters Joanne (Roger) Krause of Sun Prairie and Diane (John) Gillitzer of Waterloo; Grandchildren Kevin (Kara), Craig (Julie) Debra, Michele (Jason), Michael (Darcy), Dawn (Jason); 11 Great-Grandchildren; Brother Ben (Jean) Schuyler. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her Parents, Husband Harvey, Sisters Lucille Harle and Mary Brochmann and Brother Willard Schuyler.
In leau of flowers, memorials to Agrace Hospice or Shriners Hospital for Children would be appreciated.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11:00AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo with Rev. Robert Kosky presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery of Waterloo immediately following the funeral service.
