Dorothea Guetzlaff

October 4, 1925 — June 27, 2015

Watertown-Dorothea S. Guetzlaff 89, of Watertown passed away on Saturday June 27, 2015 at the Highland House in Watertown.
Dorothea was born on Oct. 4, 1925 in Watertown the daughter of Christian and Juliana (Koepsell) Krueger. She attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated high school from Northwestern College Preparatory. She married Arnold Guetzlaff on April 13, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Dorothea worked at Midstate Shoe co. and Bethesda Lutheran Homes for many years, retiring in 1990. Dorothea was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was active in various activates of the church. For many years, she was a volunteer at the Food Pantry and served on the board and was the treasurer. She also volunteered with various areas in the community. In 2002 she volunteered at Highland House and continued while living there doing the daily devotions. She enjoyed being with her beloved family and friends. She loved vacations to the cottage in northern Wisconsin, traveling, cards, games, crafts, china painting and furniture refinishing.
Survivors include: daughter Shawn (Tony) Peirick of Watertown; grandchildren Alisha (Joshua) Kamuchey of Johnson Creek and Joshua (Caitlin Fermanich) Peirick of Watertown; great grandchildren Jonathan and Callen Kamuchey; sister-in-law Myrtle Krueger of Fort Atkinson. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Arnold, sister Olivia Kuerschner, brothers Roy, William, Victor, Theodore, Clemens and Roland.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Highland House or Rainbow Hospice would be appreciated.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Thursday July 2, 2015 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Groth presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9-11 a.m. Burial will be in Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia.
