Donna Jean Beal, 75, of Waterloo, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Watertown Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Donna was born October 4, 1940 in the Town of Portland, the daughter of Eugene and Helen (Krueger) Grossman. In 1958, Donna graduated from Waterloo High School and soon married the love of her life, Allen Beal, on October 11 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo. Donna was a lifelong member of St. Paul's. She worked at Pine Knoll Supper Club for many years, and took great pride in raising her children and grandchildren. Donna loved going to the casinos and loved to boast her winnings and always forgot about her losses. Traveling was a passion, especially to Branson, MO, where her and Al listened to country music. She was an avid snowmobiler but, most of all, she cherished times spent with her many beloved family and dear friends. There was never a dull moment with Donna; she truly was the life of the party. Donna's love of life, laughter, and kindness will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Donna is survived by: her husband Allen of Waterloo; Children Larry (Carol) Beal of Waterloo, Sue (Randy) Buss of Grimes, IA, Steve (Stacey Fandrey) Beal of Waterloo; grandchildren Ryan Buss of West Des Moines IA, Amber (Dustin Benesch) Beal of Marshall; Sister Delores Karow of Columbus and Sister-in-Law Loretta Grossman of Lake Mills. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Brother Ronald Grossman, Sister Shirley Szwec, and Grandson Brandon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Donna's name to St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo or UW Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Watertown Regional Medical Center and to the staff at Golden Living Center for the exceptional care of Donna for almost six years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo with Rev. Robert Kosky presiding. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Washington Cemetery of the Town of Portland.
