Donita Ruth Gruber, age 71, was born to eternal life at her home in Jefferson WI, on April 23, 2025.
Donita was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 7, 1953, to George and Edna (Martin) Gruber.
Donita moved to Bethesda Lutheran Communities in her 20s and lived there for over 40 years before moving to St Coletta of WI. She was a resident there for 6.5 years.
Donita was a social butterfly and known to be a wild story teller. She had a very vivid imagination and a great memory for things she loved. She had a very lively, but sweet personality. She always knew how to make her presence known and had a mischievous side as well. Donita loved to be around people and could make anybody's day better. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was the life of the party in past years. Anybody that knew her was beyond blessed. To know her was to love her.
Donita's favorite things to do were socializing with anyone and everyone, listening to music, (especially Elvis) and dancing, going to shows at the Fireside Dinner Theater in Fort Atkinson, going out on the town with her friends (especially to the movies and out to eat for chicken,) going to parties and social gatherings, and kicking back for a relaxing time in her recliner, watching I Love Lucy or The Golden Girls. Donita's faith was also very important to her and she loved attending Church services. She was a long-time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Donita is proceeded in death by her parents, grandparents, her sister Gayle Gruber, other relatives and former guardian Dorothy Nico.
She is survived by her guardian/friend, Kristina Johnson, and close friends Robin Saindon, John Uhlman and many others.

Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 4:00pm until the time of service. Donita will be laid to rest next to her parents and sister at Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
