Donald J. Veith, 89 of Waterloo, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019 at home surrounded by his family.
Donald was born May 28, 1930 to August and Frances (Renz) Veith. He was a lifelong resident of Waterloo. He graduated in 1948 from Waterloo High School and was active in all sports. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Schmidt on October 23, 1954.
Don was a Korean War Veteran, having served from 1953-1955 with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Waterloo Legion #1669, Holy Family Catholic Church in Waterloo, belonging to the third and fourth degree Knights of Columbus and a former member of the volunteer fire department. Don enjoyed the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, NASCAR racing, gambling, and traveling. He was a milk hauler for 30 years and a semi-truck driver for Pallet One in Waterloo until retirement.
Survivors include his wife Sylvia, 3 sons: Timothy (Linda Petersen) Veith of Appleton; Daniel Veith of Marshall; and Terry (Nicole) Veith of Waterloo. 6 Grandchildren: Danielle (Kevin) Kulibert; Kalyn (Jason) Plate; Devin; Kimberly; Krista; and Kurtis Veith. 5 Great Grandchildren: Rachel; Samuel; Emma; Norah; and Miles.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, a son Michael, two brothers Jerome and David and two sisters, Maryann Wagner and Joann Veith Cahee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 11:00am at Holy Family Parish in Waterloo, with Fr. Jorge Miramontes presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00am until time of service. Burial will immediately follow in the Parish cemetery.
