Donald M. Nord, 78 of Hartland, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Hartland Terrace.
Don was born on June 10, 1938 in Kenyon, Minnesota the son of Joseph and Rose (Budzinski) Nord. He married Judith Berg on January 2, 1958 at The Little Brown Church of Nashua, IA. The couple enjoyed 56 years of marriage and raised 5 children. Don was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church of Delafield and he was co-owner of Berghammer Construction Company in Milwaukee. He was a skilled woodworker, enjoyed golfing, going on walks and above all else, spending time with his family. Don will be remembered for his joyful sense of humor, and strong work ethic. He was also a very humble man, never needing recognition for his accomplishments. He was a treasured husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Don is survived by: 4 Children Scott (Kay) Nord of Oconomowoc, Jon (Michelle) Nord of Ixonia, Dan Nord of Oconomowoc, and Jennifer (Eric) Thurston of Monroe, GA; 13 Grandchildren Sara (Lee), Brian (Anne), Jacob, Alana (Alin), Joshua, Andrew, Jessica, Kaylyn, Joseph, Nate, Rachel, Shawn, and Max; 6 Great-Grandchildren Gage, William, Kash, Charlotte, Benjamin, and Hadley; Brother Stanley Nord of Dennison, MN; Brother-in-law Dave (Jeanne) Berg of Pine Island, MN; Sister-in-law Kathy (Roger) Erickson of Zumbrota, MN. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: His Parents Joseph and Rose, Wife Judith, Son Bill, Grandson Kyle, and Sister Jean.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at Hartland Terrace for the exceptional care they provided for Don.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Christ the King Lutheran Church of Delafield with the Rev. Dr. Lindsey Jordan presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 12PM until the time of service.
