Dolores J. Holzhueter, 87, of Sun Prairie, formerly of Waterloo passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Prairie Gardens in Sun Prairie.
Dolores was born on March 30, 1932 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Orville and Viola (Heiden) Mannigel. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1950 and later moved to Waterloo where she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she was a cook and later on helped at Waterloo High School. She married the love of her life Leonard Holzhueter on January 26, 1952 and the couple enjoyed 62 years of marriage before Lennie’s passing in 2014. Dolores was a homemaker and enjoyed her time raising her children and spending time with her family, enjoyed traveling, taking family trips, and Lennie and Dolores loved dancing to polka bands. Dolores was loved by many and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Dolores is survived by her children Steve (Margie) Holzhueter of Black Earth, and Keith Holzhueter of Chesterfield, MO, Rick (Diane) Lemke of Montello, and Jane (Dave) Ring of Cottage Grove. 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and her Brother and Sister Shirley (Don) Ebert and Harlan (Bev) Mannigel. She is also survived by a number of Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A funeral service for Dolores will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waterloo with Rev. Thomas Wilsmann presiding. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00am until the time of service. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Washington Cemetery.
