Dennis C. Zimmermann, 87, of Watertown, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 22, 2019.
Dennis was born in Watertown on September 11, 1931 to Glenn and Lillian (Krueger) Zimmermann. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School, the Milwaukee Business Institute, and the Institute for Professional Standards.
Dennis served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. During the Korean War he was a gunner on a B-29 Bomber. Upon his return he was employed as an office manager-cost accountant by Hevi-Duty Electric Co. in Watertown. He moved to Fresno California in 1957; married Joyce Thomason and established a Public Accounting Firm. He returned to Watertown in 1976 and was employed as an office manager-accountant for Jones Livestock Transportation Inc; NRJ Rentals Inc; Great Lakes Order Buyers Inc; and Budget Print. He also served the Town of Shields in a secretary/financial position. Dennis was a member of River Valley Alliance Church where he served as a treasurer, elder, and other activities. He was also a member of the Watertown American Legion Post 189. He enjoyed his hobby farm and the many animals he had.
Dennis is survived by one daughter and three grandchildren: Kimberlee Zimmermann of Watertown; Matthew and Markus Salazar of Boise, ID, and Jeremy Racoma of Green Bay, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Karyn Salazar.
A funeral service for Dennis will be held at River Valley Alliance Church on Monday July 8, 2019 at 11:00am with Rev. David Zimmermann presiding. A visitation will take place at the church from 9:00am until time of service. Burial will immediately follow the service at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
