REESEVILLE - David John Schonhoff, 47, of Reeseville died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, September 13, 2012, as the result of a pulmonary embolism.
He was born March 24, 1965 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the son of Robert and Barbara Schonhoff. He grew up in Hazel Green, where he graduated from Wahlert High School in 1983. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
On May 28, 2000, Dave married Carrie Voigt at St. James Catholic Church in Mequon, Wisconsin. They shared their hearts and home with their two treasured children, Sydney Alyse and Austin Robert.
He was employed as a Senior Technical Analyst at EFI Software. Prior to that, he was a Corporate Project Manager with RR Donnelley/Perry Judd's for 24 years.
He was a man who loved his family and was always there to help anyone in need. He was a hands-on father who coached his children's teams and shared with them his love of the outdoors. He lived his life with purpose and was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday September 19, 2012, 7:00 PM at HOLY FAMILY PARISH/ST. JOSEPH, 387 S. MONROE ST., WATERLOO, with Fr. Michael Radowicz presiding. Visitation will take place on Wednesday September 19, 2012 from 4:00 PM until the time of Mass, all at the church. A private family Rite of Committal will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie, and children, Sydney Alyse and Austin Robert, all of Reeseville; his parents, Robert and Barbara of Hazel Green; his siblings, Steve of Augusta, MI, Kim (Nick) Reiter of Waterloo, IA, Jim of Savage, MN, Jeff (Dawn) of Savage, MN, Lisa (Barry) Ploessl of Holmen, Suzanne (Paul) Humbert of St. Paul, MN, and Dan (Lisa) of Olathe, KS.; his parents-in-law, Alice and Jerry Voigt of Cedarburg; brothers-in-law Richard (Keisha) Voigt of Sterling, VA and Christopher (Kimberly) Voigt of Glendale; 26 nieces and nephews; aunts; uncles; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Schonhoff Children Memorial Fund at Avestar Credit Union, 125 West Madison Street Waterloo, WI 53594.
