Daniel A. Martinez 22, of Johnson Creek, passed away on Sunday July 28, 2013.
Daniel was born on Feb. 1, 1991 in Chicago, IL the son of Agustin and Martha (Vega) Martinez. He was a 2009 graduate of Johnson Creek High School. He served as a rifleman with the United States Marines in Afghanistan. He loved hunting and the outdoors.
Survivors include: parents Agustin and Martha Martinez of Johnson Creek; sister Anna Martinez of Johnson Creek; maternal grandparents Rafael Vega and Socorro Arreola of Mexico; paternal grandmother Guadalupe Martinez of Mexico; also survived by a number of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Bernardino Arteaga. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday July 31, 2013 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Johnson Creek with Fr. Jorge Miramontes presiding. Visitation will be held in the church at 9:00a.m, until the time of the Mass. Burial with military rites will be in the parish cemetery.
