Daniel Baumann

Daniel F. Baumann 94, of Watertown passed away on Thursday Feb. 28, 2013 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Daniel was born on Oct. 23, 1918 in the Town of Ixonia the son of Herman and Sarah (Braatz) Baumann. He was a 1936 graduate of Watertown High School and attended Valparaiso University and UW Platteville. He married Leah Niedens on May 20, 1942. She preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 1992. He then married Doris Zastrow-Schultz on Feb. 28, 1993. He operated Danny's Wayside Inn and the Dan-Lea Motel in Ixonia for 15 years. He was a Project Engineer with the WI Department of Transportation until retiring in 1983. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Watertown. He was a former member of the Ixonia Fire Dept., Tavern League and the National Motel Association. He enjoyed traveling, sports and reading.
Survivors include: wife Doris Baumann of Watertown; 4 children Betty Parish of Hayward, Beverly (David) Hoeft of Watertown, Dennis (Liz) Baumann of Watertown and Patti Zoromski of Madison; step son Steven(Ann) Schultz of Pipersville; 14 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson , a step granddaughter, 2 great great grandchildren and 4 brothers. Memorials to trinity Lutheran Church, Rainbow Hospice, Marquardt Memorial Manor or the Charity of One's Choice would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Rainbow Hospice, TLC, Marquardt Manor and Home Health or all their care and compassion.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday March 5, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Brett Brauer officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday 4-7 at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home and on Tuesday 10 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Norwegian Cemetery in Ixonia.
