Cher Yang, 80, of Watertown, WI passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Cher was born on May 5, 1938 in Xieng-Khouang, Laos the son of You Yi and Ying (Vang) Yang. Cher married Moa Her in Laos and the couple enjoyed over 60 years of marriage together and were blessed with 8 children. Before Cher came to the US, he worked for the US Army as a guide and also worked on constructing a US military airport in Laos and was proud of that. After coming to the US, Cher worked at Johnson Controls for the majority of his career. For leisure, Cher enjoyed hunting and fishing. Cher is remembered by his family as always having a smile on his face. He was a great dad and husband. Above all, he loved to spend time with his family and was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. Cher was a hard-working man and his family is so grateful for his sacrifice to leave the country he knew to give them a better life. He will be dearly missed.
Cher is survived by: his loving wife, Moa Yang; his children, Ton (Nou Lo), Xay, Mola, Cheng, and Xao; and 6 grandchildren, Brian, Nicholas, Sabrina, Yupheng,Tswvfeng (Pajhoua), and Natalyn; 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; 2 children in infancy; a son, Dou; and 2 brothers.
A visitation to honor the life of Cher will be held from 4:00PM until 10:00PM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home in Watertown. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Todd Iverson presiding. Cher will be laid to rest following the service in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
