Charles J. Haberman, 94 of Waterloo, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Highland House of Waterloo.
Charles was born on August 24, 1924 in the Town of Waterloo, the son of Charles and Angela (Donegan) Haberman. He attended Jordan School and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 8th grade. Charles farmed with his father and after moving to Waterloo with his parents, was employed at Wilbur Lumber, Zibell Hardware, Peach Plumbing, Jim’s Cheese Pantry – all of Waterloo; and also the Marshall Public Schools. He was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church (now Holy Family Parish – Waterloo Campus). He loved hunting pheasants and deer, trapping rabbits, watching the Packers, Brewers and Badgers, and he also enjoyed reading. Charles was a self-less and quiet man who was a friend to many and will be missed.
He is survived by: sister-in-law Anne Haberman of Waterloo; nieces and nephews Bonnie (Melvin) Martin of Marshall, Karen (Lynn) Robertson, Michael (Beverly) Haberman, Debra (David) Arians all of Waterloo, Donna (Bill) Hubacher of Reeseville, and Gregory Haberman of Marshall. Charles is also survived by great, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Clarence Hildebrandt and his brother Joseph Haberman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00AM on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Holy Family Parish – Waterloo Campus with Fr. Jorge Miramontes presiding. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery of Waterloo following the Mass.
