February 12, 1930 — November 5, 2013

Charles Filter, age 83, passed away on Tuesday November 5, 2013 in Sun Prairie at Haack's Tendercare.
He was born on Feb. 12, 1930, to the late William and Laura (Haberman) Filter. He graduated from Waterloo High School in 1947 prior to joining the United States Army. Charles spent many enjoyable hours making fishing lures and afternoons sitting along the banks, fishing the Crawfish River and Lake Puckaway. In his earlier years, he traveled to Madison to ice fish on Lake Monona. He was very proud of creating new ideas in fishing equipment. He also enjoyed going deer, duck, and pheasant hunting in the Waterloo area. NASCAR racing was a favorite weekend past time on TV. He would often consult family and friends for new recipes. He worked at The Mid States Shoe Factory for 18 years as an accountant, Perry Printing until retirement, and later for Green Thumb in Fox Lake.
Charles is survived by cousins, other relatives and many good friends.
