Carolyn M. Luedtke, 93 of Watertown, passed away on November 21, 2014 at the Watertown Regional Medical Center
Carolyn was born on May 30, 1921 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Louise (Kane) Gates. She was a 1944 Graduate of UW-Eau Claire and earned a teaching degree. Carolyn married Harold Luedtke on March 15, 1946 in Milwaukee and the couple enjoyed 51 years of marriage. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was the Sunday School Coordinator and a member of its Crafters and Quilters Club. She was the 2001 Watertown Area AARP Volunteer of the Year. Harold and Carolyn were avid golfers and longtime members of the Watertown Country Club. She loved playing cards, especially "Hand and Foot". In addition to her love of cards her friends and family remember her as someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand. She had a great sense of generosity and would always take time out of her day to help everyone around her. Carolyn was a life-long learner and always loved traveling and discovering new information.
Carolyn is survived by: her Daughters Carol (Joseph) Karps of Evergreen Park, IL and Mary (Richard) Eckert of Watertown; 8 Grandchildren James, Jacqueline, Timothy, Kelly, Kim, Joseph, Matthew, and Kirsten; 14 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great, Great-Grandchildren; Sister-in-Law Mabel Sullivan of Two Rivers. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded by: her Parents, Husband Harold, 3 Sisters, 1 Brother and 3 Grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Natterstad presiding. Visitation will be from 11AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
