C. Lorne Billings "Lorne"
C. Lorne Billings, age 89, of Waterloo, passed away on Monday June 24, 2013 at Rainbow Hospice Care. Lorne was born November 4, 1923 in Waukesha, the son of the late Clarence A. and Alma (Albertz) Billings. He married Berneice Pettis on July 24, 1948 at the First Presbyterian Church in Waukesha. He was raised in Dousman and had his first farm in North Prairie before moving to the Waterloo farm in 1965. Together with his wife and family they have dairy farmed since 1958.
Lorne is survived by his 4 children; Edward(Jackie) Billings, Allan(Patricia) Billings, Linda Boynton and Christine Gossen, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brother James(Carol) Billings, his in-laws; Phyllis Howlett, Robert(Shirley) Pettis, Carl(Wilma) Pettis, and a cousin Betty(Art) Parman. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Berneice, and a daughter Patricia.
Those wishing to express their sympathy with a memorial may wish to consider Rainbow Hospice Foundation.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday July 6, 2013 at the Waterloo United Methodist Church, 348 W. Madison St. Waterloo. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church on Saturday. A lunch will be available after the service so family and friends can remember and tell stories.
