Allen O. Krause, 85 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at his home.

Allen was born on August 26, 1939, in Postville, IA, the son of Oscar and Elda (Tesch) Krause. Allen attended and graduated from Watertown High School in 1957. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving actively from 1957 to 1960, and as reserve from 1960 to 1963. On September 22, 1962, he married Lois Oestreich at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ashippun and the couple shared over 62 years of marriage. In his free time, Allen enjoyed watching the Brewers and the Packers, and going camping. He was an excellent husband and father, and will be missed by those he leaves behind.

Allen is survived by: his wife Lois; children David Krause, Deana Berger, Darrin Krause, and Heather Freeders; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and sister Nancy Jilek. Allen is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Don Jilek.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Jerry Ewings and Rev. Nicholas Quinnett presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church. Allen will be laid to rest at Glenview Memorial Gardens of Ixonia following the service.
