Alfred Stiglbauer

August 16, 1923 — January 30, 2016

Alfred C. Stiglbauer, 92 of Watertown, died at his home on Saturday, January 30, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 16, 1923 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Alfred E. and Caroline (Koenig) Stiglbauer. He was a WWII veteran, joining the Army Air Corp in 1942, at age 19, following the Pearl Harbor attack. He served his country until December 29, 1945 as an airplane mechanic in the China, Burma Theater. On August 11, 1948, he married Mary Green in Genesee Depot, WI and the couple enjoyed 67 years of marriage. After the service, he built a service station in Stone Bank, WI and later a garage and car agency in Oconomowoc for 25 years. Al then purchased a mobile home park in Horicon for 17 years, purchased several condos in Florida and refurbished them. At age 70, he purchased a mobile home park in Greenwood, WI. At age 80, Al decided to finally retire and spent time hunting, fishing and golfing, in Wisconsin and Florida. He was a charter member of the Stone Bank Lion's Club and was the Assistant Fire Chief of Stone Bank Volunteer Fire Department. Al was a life-long member of Hartland American Legion, member of St. Clare Catholic Church or North Lake, and St. Vinney's Catholic Church of Orlando, FL.
Al is survived by: his Wife Mary Katherine of 67 years; Daughters Gail (William) Fons of Brookfield, and Charlotte (Michael) Martin of Hartford; Grandsons Andrew Fons of Milwaukee and Eric (Kym) Bichel of Slinger; Great-Granddaughter Brandy Lynn Bichel; Niece (Daughter-like) Gloria (Paul) Johnson of Colorado, Nephew (Son-like) Frank Stephan of Florida. He is also survived a number of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and Sister Geraldine Rogers.
Memorials in Al's honor to the Wisconsin Veteran's Honor Flight would be appreciated.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home of Watertown with Fr. Michael Strachota presiding. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
