Adeline Travnick

January 17, 1922 — July 1, 2018

Adeline Mary (Winter) Travnick 96, of Lake Mills, formerly of Waterloo, passed away on Sunday July 1, 2018.

Adeline was born on January 17, 1922 in Reeseville, the daughter of Fred and Lillian (Weihert) Winter.

Mom worked many places to help support her family, including Schwoegler’s in Jefferson and Hamlin’s in Lake Mills.  She was very proud of her civilian service at the Presque Isle Army Air Field in Maine during WWII, where she also met our dad. Mom loved cooking, baking, dancing and socializing in her active years.  We were raised on organic foods from green gardens before the terms were coined. We learned early how to recycle everything.

Survived by her children, Glenn (Darlene) Travnick of Waterloo; Donna (Bill) Strand of Park Falls; Van Travnick of Whitewater and Randall Travnick of Waterloo; further survived by six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends Chuck and Ruth Werth of Milwaukee.

Adeline is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, her first husband, George G. Travnick in 1984; and her second husband, Edgar Werth in 2011.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waterloo with Rev. Thomas Wilsmann presiding.  Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.  Burial will be in Washington Cemetery.

Our heartfelt thanks for the loving care she received at Willowbrook (now Lake Mills Health Services) in Lake Mills where she moved in 2013 after being diagnosed with dementia.  The disease took many memories from mom,and thankfully left her with only good ones.  She had a strong faith and believed in a better place with God for eternity.  Till we meet again mom, rest in peace.
