Obituary for James Lewellin

James W. Lewellin, 67, of Waterloo, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Rainbow Hospice Center with his loving family by his side.

Jim was born on December 22, 1949 to James and Carolyn (Christie) Lewellin. On February 8th, 1980, Jim married the love of his life, Pat Weihert in Jefferson and the two enjoyed 37 years of marriage and were blessed with a wonderful daughter, Anne. Jim worked as an Excavator for Dunneisen Excavating for many years. Jim loved nature and everything outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fishermen for many years. His family fondly remembers how he enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Lake Winnebago. Jim had a love for skydiving; he was an active member of the Seven Hills Sky Diving Club and even completed a jump dressed as Santa Clause! Above all else, Jim loved to spend time with his family and loved ones. He was a joy to all who knew him and will be dearly missed.

Jim is survived by: his loving wife Pat; daughter Anne; 8 siblings, Christie Olson, Tom (Rita) Lewellin, Dan (Deb) Lewellin, Mary (Rich Vigue) Lewellin, Pat (Peg) Lewellin, Theresa (Scott) Riege, Bess Jacobs, and Jay (Virginia) Lewellin; his mother-in-law Eunice Weihert, 8 siblings-in-law, Gary (Roxanne) Weihert, Cindy (Norbert) Zander, Eugene (Pat) Weihert, Steven (Sue) Weihert, Darlene (Jim) Cook, Marlene (John) Eggert, Susan Zimmermann, Daniel (Barb) Weihert; and special nephews, god-son - Steven (Melissa) Jacobs; and nephew, Michael (Kellie) Lewellin. He is also survived by a number of relatives and other friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Donald Weihert; brother-in-law Jim Olson; brother-in-law David Weihert; sister-in-law Donna Yerges; and sister-in-law Mary Vance

Donations in Jim’s honor may be made to Rainbow Hospice, Willowbrook Rehabilitation of Lake Mills, or a charity of one’s choice.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on August 19, 2017 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM at the American Legion building on Highway 89 in Waterloo.
